    SUMIT is an educational and mentorial program for technology entrepreneurship aimed at creating an environment wherein startups have the greatest potential for success. Twenty teams (from Russia, France, Finland and America) with projects in their early statges of development will participate in SUMIT. For a period of seven weeks SUMIT provides each team with an aranged workplace, the support of mentors and experts, and an intensive course of lectures and workshops on technical entrepreneurship. Based on their results, teams earn the opportunity to present in front of investors at Demo Day (SUMIT’s culminating event).
    SUMIT is organized by Business Incubator NRU ITMO in association with RIS Ventures, Russian Venture Company (RVC), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Business Incubator MSU, EMC corporation and other partner organizations.
    Startup School SUMIT is conducted biannually in Saint Petersburg, starting in 2011. The previous three SUMIT, with the participation of 300 participants (over 50 teams) has resulted in ten alumni-teams receiving financing in the amount of 20 – 200 thousand dollars.
    Additionally, a number of teams have been permanently housed in the startup accelerator.
